Such a beautiful quaint town to visit with its architect and character, the river is stunning for a sunset and watch the swallows. I recommend a walk to the Lac De Pombonne to spot wildlife, watch the waterfalls and stop off at the cafe. Unfortunately the weekend we arrived was a local bank holiday so everything was closed, the tourist information was open one day as well as a couple bars but overall too quiet with no atmosphere. I would like to return when its busier. The tourist train and river boat tours looked popular on the day we arrived. Walk to Jean Jaures park to see the gardens, beautiful flowers, small play area and pond with fish, free toilets here too. We also took a train from Bergerac to Sarlat for a day costing about 20euro each return. Transport in and around Bergerac is very difficult and needs some attention before you go, the airport is very small and no one around to assist. Pre book bus 48 hours before or pre book a taxi as too many people waiting.

Nice old city but nothing to do shops closed Sundays and Mondays. No buses from or to the airport taxi service is next to none waited hours to get one even if you book in a advance they don't turn up. Not a relaxing experience wouldn't recommend. And it rained constantly.

The historic town of Bergerac is a great place to visit.
The historic town of Bergerac is a great place to visit. Lots of interesting architecture and local culture to explore. There is quite a big street market held once or twice a week. Plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes. A very welcoming tourist destination.

The town is beautiful.
The town is beautiful. There are many shops, and beautiful architecture everywhere you look. There are some of the finest restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of eating at. The people everywhere are very friendly and everyone seems happy. It was like walking around in a painting. It was unforgettable.

Beautiful town with lots of interesting buildings.
Beautiful town with lots of interesting buildings. Nice bars and restaurants. We found opening times of restaurants and shops unpredictable. Enough to do for a few days. Nice river trip and prebooked taxi from airport was convenient.

So many things to see and do in the area.
So many things to see and do in the area. Bordeaux and Burgundy get lots of press for their wines. The surrounding vineyards of the Bergerac region are superb and accessible. They wine you sample ranges from good to out of this world; the stories you hear at each vineyard are full of the passion the people convey about their work and the results.
In addition, the cultural sites were fun with many to choose from. Our only concern is that we traveled in early October. Some sites change or close at that time. Their websites weren't up to date so we showed up to several only to find them closed for the season.
Fabulous airy annex apartment within a stunning rural setting. Beautiful, tranquil extensive garden which was perfect after a long drive & explored thoroughly by our dog. Our hosts were amazing & nothing was too much trouble. Located within a lovely strolling distance from the centre of Bergerac. The breakfast at Maison Aubergerac is exceptional. Served on the patio area and all local produce. Cheese, meat, pate, fruits, breads & preserves - an absolute feast of delight.
Definitely a 10/10 experience. Superb 👍
The property was beautiful, set in the centre of Bergerac and incredibly accessible. The room was the most beautiful hotel room, with incredible attention to detail. The breakfast was fantastic, especially the homemade yoghurt. The best part was the owners, who were incredibly accommodating. If people are looking for places in Bergerac, I couldn’t recommend anything better.
I have never had a better bed and breakfast experience! Martine was an incredible hostess, and I truly felt at home at Villa Aristide. She went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of, and I can't even describe how wonderful it was to wake up with the smell of her pies and tartes in the morning. Highly recommend Villa Aristide to anyone traveling to Bergerac!
Conveniently located close to the airport and just out of Bergerac centre.
Good free parking on site. Very welcome air conditioning.
All staff were friendly, professional and helpful.
Our room was comfortable, clean, quiet and well equipped.
Breakfast was good value with a choice of drinks, bread, home baked cake, cereals, yoghurt and cold meat/cheese.
Really good location in the centre of the old town. The apartment is ancient but comfortable though stairs may be a challenge for those with reduced mobility. Chris was exceptionally helpful, picking us up, showing us round the town and apartment and dropping us back to the airport. Breakfast couldn't have been fresher. Quirky spot for a long weekend!
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the centre of Bergerac. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. Good value for money….the rooms are small but clean, the shower room seemed recently updated..perhaps a little TLC for the overall decor would be a good thing. Free parking in the station car park across the street.
The host is friendly and helpful. I like the studio, you can cook yourself, walking distance to a supermarket. easy walking distance to town centre,(around 10mins) it's a small town anyway. parking space outside if you drive a car. quiet in the evening. suitable for sole traveler or couples
the facilities are modern, the house is beautifully restored and decorated , the rooms. kitchen, living room, both bedrooms are large and very comfortable . the showers excellent , and of course the location is perfect, a short walk to anywhere in Bergerac.
The location could not have been better, right in the centre of the old town of Bergerac in a minutes walk from all restaurants, bars and the river front. The room was comfortable with adequate facilities and the hostess very obliging and friendly
The breakfast was delicious and abundant with homemade yogart, cake and jams. The room was large with a sitting area that overlooked The garden and swimming pool. We enjoyed the amazing art collection in this beautiful old home.
It is a 16th century building which is full of character. Breakfast was good, hosts were excellent. Hotel is in the old town 2 metres from the river and opposite a number of restaurants.
It was beautiful! It had everything. It was right in the centre of the old town so perfect for getting around on foot. It was super close to everything.
